Jinhua is located in the south of the Yangtze River Delta, the center of Zhejiang Province. It is famous for its history and culture, and is one of the most famous historical cities in China.

Jinhua Polytechnic has more than 100 years’ history in vocational education. It is currently a national model of higher vocational college, a nationally advanced college of vocational education, and one of the annual top fifty nationally advanced colleges for graduates employment.

Jinhua Polytechnic covers more than 146.7 hectares with a gross floor area of 690,000 square meters. Its fixed assets are worth 1.1 billion RMB, teaching equipment is valued at 233 million RMB. In addition, the college possesses nearly 1.8 million copies of books, 13 faculties, one affiliated hospital, 60 majors, more than 300 experimental training rooms, more than 800 off-campus teaching and scientific research bases, and 535 Chinese government authorized patents. At present, the college employs more than 1300 professional teachers which includes over 100 professors and about 320 associate professors, and there are more than 24,000 full-time students.

Jinhua Polytechnic has been making great efforts to expand cooperation and communication with overseas organizations. It has established long-term cooperative relationships with overseas universities and educational institutes from more than twenty countries and areas, such as USA, UK, Canada, Ukraine, Australia, New Zealand, France, Egypt, South Africa, Finland, UAE, Singapore, Indonesia, Rwanda, and Cameroon. The inter-school exchange programs cover teachers’ training, scientific research collaboration, student exchanges, Sino-foreign joint programs and other projects.

Jinhua Polytechnic has four Sino-foreign joint programs approved by the Education Department of Zhejiang Province and the Ministry of Education of China, which are Sino-American Accounting Program, Sino-Canadian Hospitality Management Program, Sino-American Sports Service and Management Program, and Sino-American Nursing Program, with more than 1200 full-time students. Sino-Canadian Hospitality Management Program has participated in the quality authentication organized by China Education Association for International Exchanges in December, 2015.

In May 2015, Jinhua Polytechnic Wintec International College was jointly established by our college and Waikato Institute of Technology, New Zealand. The majors include Applied Electronic Technology, Computer Application Technology and Computer Networking Technology. The initial intake was 168 students in 2015, and it plans to enroll 240 students in 2016. Jinhua Polytechnic Wintec International College will build two more new majors, Architectural Engineering Technology and Mould Design and Manufacture in 2016, which are to recruit students in 2017.

Jinhua Polytechnic has developed student exchanges with Finland, Egypt, Singapore, Taiwan and other countries and regions, with approximately 100 students taking part every year. Jinhua Polytechnic offers recruitment and teaching services for oversea students in various specialties, such as Chinese Language, Machinery and Vehicles, IT and Information Engineering, Pharmacy, Arts of Dress Design, International Business and Hotel Management. In recent years, there have been more than 500 international students from over 20 countries and regions studying in our college. In July, 2014, Rwanda Government Sponsored Program officially started up in our school with the initial intake of 32 students. Rwandan students will learn Chinese language in the first year and later transfer to different majors such as Vehicle Detection and Maintenance Technique, Communication Network and Equipment, and Hotel Management. This program will recruit more excellent students sponsored by Rwanda government in the future.

         As Chinese education continues to open up, Jinhua Polytechnic will further broaden the field of international communication, actively promote the internationalization of education, and enhance international influence. During the 13^th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), Jinhua Polytechnic plans to strengthen the quality of Sino-foreign programs; to attract more overseas students to gain diplomas; to enable more teachers to receive longer training abroad; to increase students exchange programs; to fortify the management of foreign teachers; and to better the international college. Also, it strives to organize over 200 students to exchange; to hold 70 multicultural academic lectures, featuring the theme of 'cross-cultural interaction, win-win together'; to augment 120 bilingual or foreign language courses, among which 90 courses will be introduced from foreign countries; and to provide skills training for teachers and students from developing countries such as Indonesia and African countries. With the guidance of the national strategy of 'One Belt and One Road', we will make every effort to promote Chinese education worldwide, so as to firmly enhance the internationalization of education and soft power of Jinhua Polytechnic.
