Based on the civilian-run Jinhua College of Science and Technology approved by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province in 1994, Jinhua Polytechnic, officially approved by the Ministry of Education in 1998. It has carried forward the fine traditions of more than 100 years from the six key technical secondary schools at national or provincial level: Jinhua Normal School, Jinhua Health School, Jinhua Agriculture School, Yiwu Normal School, Jinhua Trade and Economy School and Zhe Jiang Agricultural Machinery School.
